This course is an overview of building acoustics and how to effectively design for noise control using the latest techniques and technology. An understand will be gained of how noise is transmitted and ways to create effective designs to contain it.

  1. Gain an understanding of how noise is transmitted in buildings
  2. Learn effective design principles to contain and control noise transmission
  3. Learn the "tricks of the trade" techniques to provide clients with better performing buildings
  4. Learn about the latest technology to effectively design for noise control


About the Presenter

Amy Hawkinson

With 10+ years experience in the construction industry, Amy Hawkinson of PABCO Gypsum specializes in acoustical issues and solutions for interior partitions and floor/ceiling assemblies. Amy works with architects, specifiers, and contractors to find right assembly for the demands of the project, performance criteria, and budget.
